The first thing is the an obvious one, the St. Louis Zoo. The zoo is free and could easily spend half a day there if you are adamant about seeing every single exhibit. If you go on a weekend and the weather is nice be prepared for crowds.

The City Museum is my favorite this also could be a half day experience if you are diligent to see everything in the museum. The City Museum is advertised a children’s museum with many hands on activities but it is equally as enjoyable as a young adult or adult. I went with a college team and everyone had a blast. There are multiple story slides, you can crawl in and out of tunnels, there is a large indoor outdoor jungle gym. A room full of pinball machines and a cafeteria. I did not get anything to eat or drink there so cannot speak to if it was tasty or what the prices were.

St. Basilica Cathedral it is the largest mosaic in the world. The entire church’s ceiling is one large mosaic. The website will say it takes about two hours to completely tour the place. I would argue to say an hour is plenty of time to take everything in and fully appreciate the beauty of the church. The Cathedral does have a very sacred feeling when walking in. There is a museum in the basement of the church explaining more history of the place.

The Gateway Arch National Park is an absolute must! The gift shop, museum, and entrance to the ride up to the top of the arch is all underground. The museum focuses on westward expansion of the United States. The Arch represents the gate to the west. In the museum you will find artifacts to represent many different backgrounds of groups of people that made up the wild west. One section is the representation of Native Peoples of the Americas. There is a section on transportation of the westward expansion, focusing the wagon train and the building of the railroad system in the United States. If you are intentional about reading through everything in the museum one could spend two hours in there. If you are more of skimmer and just want to snap a few pictures just to say you went then probably 30 minutes.

A favorite that we stopped at for supper was Billy’s on Broadway. Billy’s on Broadway is a sports bar. The food was great and the service was quick and friendly. I got a burger and fries and it was so good.
There are many more things St. Louis and Missouri as a state has to offer. Unfortunately, I usually only pass through Missouri on my way to other places but would love to see more of Missouri and what it has for tourist and travelers in the future.
